Modern orders with legacy partners, live in production
Riyadh Air sells and services Saudia-operated flights as modern orders while Saudia continues operating through its existing PSS and PNR-based processes. FLYR Offer & Order translates between the two technologies in real time, enabling fully synchronized cross-airline retailing without requiring either airline to adapt their technology stack.
This is the industry’s first live codeshare between an Offer and Order-native airline and a legacy PSS carrier.

“Connecting a modern order to a legacy PNR in real time, in both directions, is one of the hardest problems in airline retailing,” said Sam Chamberlain, Head of Product at FLYR, talking in a recent conversation with T2RL. “Every message Saudia sends is translated into the order, and every change to the order is reflected back in the systems Saudia has run for decades. Neither airline had to compromise how it works.”

Full-journey pricing dynamically optimized.
Order creation and ticketing
Booking and ticketing fully synchronized.

Bidirectional servicing with atomic safeguards.
Shopping honors real partner inventory
Riyadh Air includes Saudia-operated segments directly within its NDC shopping offers. Partner availability arrives via industry-standard messages, is translated by Legacy Translator, and stored in Stock Keeper. Operating booking classes are mapped correctly by Legacy Translator during offer creation so every offer reflects real partner inventory and the correct lowest available class.
The result: customers shop a modern Offer and Order experience while the operating airline continues working through its existing PSS.
Pricing optimization across the whole journey
FLYR Dynamic Pricing Engine optimizes the full itinerary, not just the prime segments. Bid prices, pricing curves, partner costs, surcharges, taxes, and commercial rules can all be incorporated into the offer with safeguards in Product Catalog ensuring pricing remains above total journey costs.
This enables something traditionally difficult with codeshare itineraries: continuous revenue optimization rather than static partner pricing.

Modern orders and legacy artifacts stay synchronized
When a customer books an itinerary containing a partner-operated segment, the order is created, paid, and ticketed within FLYR while required records are created and maintained within Saudia’s PSS. FLYR syncs the information needed across both environments, including e-tickets, record locators, booking classes, SSRs, contact details, and partner availability.
To the customer and servicing agent, it remains one coherent journey. Behind the scenes, FLYR keeps the modern order and legacy records aligned.
Servicing works in both directions
Customers can change, cancel, or refund journeys combining partner segments. Changes made within the order are reflected in the partner PNR, while any changes originating from Saudia, like schedule changes, are translated back into the modern order. Atomic servicing ensures a ticket is reissued only after successful payment, with automatic rollback if payment fails.
Riyadh Air agents service Saudia content directly in the FLYR Customer Service Portal, including partner frequent flyer numbers, without moving between separate airline systems.
Modern retailing without waiting for the ecosystem to modernize
Airline transformation can’t depend on each partner, channel, and system moving to Offer & Order. FLYR Legacy Translator enables modern airlines to interoperate with the infrastructure the industry relies on today, while preserving a modern order at the core.
Riyadh Air and Saudia prove that this coexistence model is no longer theoretical. It is live today.
